Agnes A Adam is a dedicated author whose work explores the complex tapestry of identity and the universal search for belonging. Her journey began with a deep curiosity about the immigrant experience, a theme she has since refined into a powerful narrative of resilience and cultural pride.
Through her writing, Agnes bridges the gap between personal history and collective memory. She believes that stories are the foundation of empathy, and her mission is to foster a world where every voice is heard and every identity is celebrated.
Author's background
Agnes Amelia Adam grew up in Indonesia, surrounded by languages. She came to the United States in 2012, and built a life here — as someone who has always believed in the power of stories to help children find themselves.

She holds a Master of Science in Library Science and works as an interpreter for Indonesian and Malay. Her background in public relations and digital media taught her how stories travel, and who gets to tell them.Â

The Immigrant in Me is her debut picture book. She wrote it for her son — born in Oklahoma, American from his first breath — because she wanted him to see himself in a story. And because she knew he wasn't the only one.
